Mamata Banerjee convenes emergency meeting after killer clashes, severe bloodshed in Bengal

Kolkata: Outgoing West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee has convened an important meeting on Tuesday in view of the violence in the state after the elections. The meeting will be attended by the Chief Secretary, Home Secretary, Director General of Police, and Commissioner of Police, Kolkata. A day after the results of the assembly elections in West Bengal, large-scale violence was witnessed on Monday, in which several BJP workers lost their lives and many were injured when clashes and shops were looted.
The BJP has shared a video of the alleged arson at a party office in which bamboo bats and ceilings are seen burning and upset people can be seen running away shouting. Pictures of dead people and footage of people fleeing from a shop robbing clothes are going viral on social media. The BJP claims that at least 9 of its workers and supporters have been killed in attacks, including a woman.
The BJP is accusing the Trinamool of the attack. The BJP has shared a video with reporters showing the demolition of the party office in Nandigram. CM Banerjee had lost the election to BJP candidate Suvendu Adhikari from the seat. Officials said four people lost their lives in an alleged clash between TMC and BJP supporters in the Burdwan district on Sunday and Monday.
